Product
Name
Name changes in the mattress business can be a confusing
way to shop. That's how some retailers claim to beat any advertised
price because they say it's not the same bed your comparing
from store to store. Mattress vendors do make similar products
for all retailers. It's seems hard to believe this can be possible
but it keeps each retailer with an exclusive product line. At
Leeds we will provide you with comp charts to help you compare
with our competition and to save you money. We will beat any
price guaranteed, even a different name as long as it's the
same product. We always have the phone numbers to all of our
vendors if you need to speak directly with them.
At Leeds Mattress Stores we promote comfortable beds. We
have realized too often, that consumers think they need a rock
hard mattress to get good support, but what you really need
is correct support with comfort so that all parts of your body
are equally aligned. Leeds wants you to know in advance that
buying a comfortable mattress can be hard to settle into initially
because the padding needs time to settle to the coils and your
back needs time to heal from you old mattress set to the new
support. We encourage a minimum of 60 nights of use before requesting
an exchange in order for you to get used to your new mattress
and not to make a mistake of selecting a new one for the wrong
reason.
The
Myth Of The Hard Bed
"I've always
heard that lying on the floor was good for your back."
Do you
know why you've been told to sleep on a firm bed all these years?
Historically,
mattresses were very soft and tended to sag in the middle forcing
people to sleep in a hammock position. Not surprisingly, people
would complain about back problems and as a remedy were told
to place a board under the sagging mattress for better support.
Thus, the myth of the firm bed was born.
However,
research now shows that a firm bed creates an inflexible or
unsupportive mattress that causes discomfort and pain in the
back, neck, shoulders and hips. A firm bed forces the body to
conform to it, forcing the spine to adopt an unnatural position.
In addition, sleeping on a firm mattress creates pressure points
which contribute to poor circulation. Imagine trying to rest
your shoulders against a hard surface; your body is tilted upright,
your shoulders just out, and in the end your spine is curved.
In fact, because your shoulders are forced upright on a hard
surface, it is difficult for your lower back to align itself.
